Does it cost anything to work with you?
My fees vary depending on the complexity of your trip, and cover my services from planning through your return home. While clients hire me primarily to make their travel-planning stress free and their trips remarkable, as a bonus I’m often able to access perks that make up for the fee.
I thought travel agents just earned commissions?
Traditionally travel agents work for free, getting paid a commission by the providers for whom they are the sales force. That presents some problems:
- Providers have cut back commissions, forcing agents to focus on quantity of customers, often at the expense of customer care.
- Commissions sometimes create incentives for agents to sell a vacation pays them more, rather than what’s best suited for the customer.
My hybrid model, combines modest fees with modest commissions, allowing me to give each client the time and attention they and their trip deserve from start to finish. It also helps to mitigate the conflict of interest, compensating me for my time and effort without sending you on the wrong cruise, just because it pays me a little more.
Maybe. I certainly love the thrill of a great deal, and those opportunities do sometimes cross my desk. But with travel, as with everything else, you often do get what you pay for.
My goal to to build long term relationships with my clients while planing great trips that respect their budget, while always looking for good value.
